Description
Composed in Bengal in the sixth century C.E. Devi Bhagavatam is replete with legends from a pre-vedic religion of the goddess. This text is for the Shakta what the Bhagavata Purana is for the Vaishnava: his or her most sacred books. The Shaktas worship shakti, the Eternal Feminine , in all her forms- Kali, Durga, Saraswati, Lakshmi, Parvati, Sati, and Radha.
This Book is an ancient literary rendering of the Devi Bhagavatam, written with all the fervour and abandon of the orignal.
